Automatically Creating Student Accounts in Active Directory

Exercise Objective

The goal is to automatically create user accounts for a list of students at a college using PowerShell and Active Directory. Each account must follow a unique identifier pattern based on the student number and a structured email address in the form e123456@clajoie.com. You will also set an initial password for each student and configure their account so they are required to change it at first sign-in.

Exercise Description

You have been tasked with creating accounts for a college's new students, using their personal information such as first name, last name, and unique identifier number. Here are the requirements:

  1. Email and identifier structure: Each student must have an email address that follows a specific pattern, for example e123456@clajoie.com, where 123456 is the student's identifier number.

  2. Default password: All students will have a default initial password, but they must change it at first sign-in to keep their account secure.

  3. Information storage: Use a CSV file to store each student's information, which allows bulk account creation in a single run.
